Explore the world and learn secrets for beautiful hair! This week, Madison Reed visits Russia to bring you hair care secrets, fashion-forward trends, and fascinating facts.

Spanning nine time zones and bordering fourteen countries, Russia is the largest country in the world. It's home to stunning Byzantine-inspired architecture, art, music, literature, ballet, and grand historic and cultural achievements that inspire national pride. Another thing Russians take pride in is their emphasis on beauty and always looking their best. Here are a few fun facts we love about Russia.

Beauty Tip: The Bathhouse
Russian women love their bathhouses. These steam room-like houses, similar to Finnish saunas, get up to one hundred and ten degrees in temperature, and work to sweat out toxins. This Russian tradition is here to stay--some bathhouses have been running for over a hundred years. Not only do bathhouses refresh the skin, they also help with circulation and hydration, which is good for the whole body.

Hair Trend: Clean and Put-together
Many Russian women won’t leave the house without their heels and makeup on, and their hair in perfect shape. Lately, a classic, put-together look has been taking the streets of Moscow and St. Petersberg--even the fashion, culture, and lifestyle philanthropist Mira Duma is wearing it. Now more than ever, Russian women are styling the clean look with minimal layers and classic hairstyles.

Fun Facts:
It’s believed that Russia has 15 secret cities with unknown names and locations.
Russia has a bigger surface area than Pluto.
Nine million commuters ride the Moscow Metro every day, more than London and New York!
There are nine million more women in Russia than men.
