Love it! Better even than the salon
I am so pleased with my Madison Reed hair color. I have waist length, thick wavy hair. I used to home color but stopped because it was so messy and the resulting color was just a dark, unvarying, monochromatic mass, an obvious home job. I then switched to high-end salon color, but $150 every four weeks was getting expensive, and the travel, wait, and down time (two hours total) was a big time sink that I dreaded, especially as I have 2 small children. So I tried MR, and it is nothing short of fabulous. It is a far superior product to the home kits found in drug/beauty stores, and at least as good as (if not better than) the color you would get in a salon. The product is beautifully packaged in a presentation box, and comes with so many goodies that show the MR team thought carefully about what a person needs to home color: a large bottle of color and developer, a cap (finally!) 2 sets of gloves (finally on that too), barrier cream, wipes, and generous sample sizes of shampoo and conditioner that come in tubes (as opposed to the little plastic rectangles you have to rip open). I watched the short instructional video on the MR website, and it was easy. And neat! Usually the bathroom is a disaster after I color, with brown drops all over the vanity and the wall paint stripped off in spots from flying color (to say nothing of the dark spots on my ears and forehead). None here: the cap kept it all in, the 2 sets of gloves precluded the need to save and and wrestle back on color-stained gloves, and the barrier cream & wipes took care of any smudges. The product really does smell great, unlike any salon or home color I've ever had. After a salon color, my hair would have that telltale chemical smell for at least 24 hours, but there is none of that with the MR product. And the color -- wow. Multi-tonal with highs and lows, rich, and very glossy, and with none of the "stripped" feeling I would get from a salon color or monochromatic look I would get from the drug store home kit. Highly recommend for both home colorers and salon colorers.

Yay! Great color delivered to my door!
"I noticed right away that the applicator bottle has a screw top. Yay! I hate twisting off the little nub most color products have, because the hole size is so variable. The second thing I noticed was after mixing, when I began to apply, which was that the thickness of the cream color. It's perfect. It doesn't drip or run and was very easy to place just where I wanted (on my roots). And there was no harsh ammonia smell! When my hair was finished, it looked and felt great! All of my gray is completely covered!"

Looks great!
Have done both home and salon color, didn't like salon because the cost on a pixie cut's worth of hair just seemed ridiculous, but box color is terrible. My plain hair looks fine, but I splurged on something a little more fun and exciting -- and the color looks as pictured. The experience was salon quality too, except that I could get up and walk around my house and read or do whatever I liked. No smell!! The extra shampoo and conditioner were a nice touch.

Easy At Home System
I really enjoyed this process. The kit came with everything that I needed to successfully color my hair at home - something I had done only once previously. There was very little odor, and it was a simple, clean process with the clean up and stain removal items. My hair felt great after and the color applied very evenly.
