Hello, beautiful!

World Kindness Day 2015

by Madison Reed {{"2015-11-13T13:00:00.000Z" | blogDate:'MMMM d, y'}}

Friday the 13th is taking on a different meaning this year! Today is World Kindness Day, designed to help people focus on the good things in their lives and pay it forward.

The team at Madison Reed has been weaving this spirit into everyday life by performing Acts of Love throughout the year. Our biggest lesson? That it doesn’t take a lot to make a difference in someone else’s life. Here are some highlights to get you inspired and joining in!

Santiago slipped cash inside two of his favorite books at the local library. He also included notes to share why those books inspired him so much. What a delightful surprise that must’ve been for the lucky readers.

Meanwhile, Winston focused on making the most of company lunches by sharing with those who really need it.

Sometimes, recognition is the biggest gift of all. Beth went out of her way to email the CEO of her commuter bus company and praise her driver. A gift card and heartfelt note for the driver completed this act of love.

Justin got playful by tucking money inside golden envelopes, attaching them to balloons, and letting them fly out into the world because “everyone deserves to receive love.”

An act of love means to me a giving of one's self in a selfless manner, expecting nothing in return. My wife Amelia and...

Kathy also channeled her inner child by stopping to talk to Zoe, a girl raising money for her school band, instead of just rushing by. Then she donated money and told Zoe to keep the cookies so she could raise even more money!

Zoe is a clarinet player who is raising money for her school #band by selling these awesome homemade cookies. ๐Ÿช I participated heavily in the #finearts in high school ๐ŸŽญ so this is something that I feel very passionate about, but I have become so numb to cardboard signs on every street corner that I don't often look up to read the message. Recently, I joined a movement that is encouraging me to share an Act of Love and show someone #kindness. ๐Ÿ’• This awareness helped me (literally) look up to see Zoe's sign and help her cause. Zoe is a brave young lady who is doing something amazing not just for herself but for her entire team. R-E-S-P-E-C-T ๐ŸŽถ #ActsOfLove #MadisonReedLove #PayItForward #love

Wherever you go, care packages always show you care. Chelsea put together 20 bags filled with first aid kits, personal care, water, snacks, and a fresh t-shirt so she’d have something to hand out when she walked by anyone in need.

Hey guys! I wanted to share a project I did for Acts Of Love with Madison Reed. About 2 weeks ago, I put together 20 care packages to hand out to anyone in need around my neighborhood. These are people I pass by everyday, occasionally having conversations with or saying a simple hello. Usually I give out extra food or clothing I may have around the house, but this time I decided to change things up in hopes of making this an ongoing experience. I filled the care packages with travel essentials, water, snacks and a fresh new t-shirt. I also gave some of the care packages to friends to give to people in their neighborhoods, which sparked a movement to do this every month! What started as a way for me to give back to the community, has turned into an inspiration for friends to share the love in their areas. #ActsOfLove #MadisonReedLove #PayItForward

We hope our Acts of Love spark ideas for giving back in your own special way. If you do, please tell us by tagging #MadisonReedLove and #ActsofLove in your post. Every story opens up a world of possibilities!
